The Sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great
Our Identity
We, the Sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great, seek to glorify God by living the Gospel way of life.
By our own vowed commitment of Chastity, Poverty, and Obedience, we more closely follow Jesus Christ whom we have put on at Baptism and who calls us to an ever- deepening union with Him.
We praise God in the Divine Liturgy, in Psalmody, and by a personal prayer life.
As an Order of the Eastern Church of Pontifical Right, we are formed in Its tradition, discipline, and spirituality, and by the writings of St. Basil and the other Eastern Fathers.
We recognize the beauty and value of the heritage which is ours to share.
In keeping with this heritage, our way of life is both contemplative and apostolic in its expression – a life of union with God in His transforming love, overflowing into love of neighbor.
Following the teachings of our Father St. Basil and the example of our Mother St. Macrina, we live in a community of mutual support and love, united in dedicated prayer and service.
