Our Mission Statement
The mission of the Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great is to respond to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who called us to be:
HIS PRAYING PRESENCE:
Sisters respond with love, offering their lives of prayer and commitment so that people in seeing them they see Him, in hearing them they recognize His voice, and in knowing them they know Him.
HIS HEALING PRESENCE:
Sisters respond with kindness and hospitality to those who are sick and needy, whether in body or spirit, dedicating themselves in a special way for reconciliation of those who live in the pain and darkness of separation from Jesus and His Church.
HIS LIFE GIVING PRESENCE:
Sisters respond with sincere willingness to share His gifts and goodness with those whose lives they touch, so that they too may live more fully and be transformed in Him.
United in this common mission Sisters journey forward, making known the Kingdom here on earth.
The Basilian Sisters are an International Order called to serve the faithful of the Eastern Catholic Churches as a particular mission in the universal Church.
Through community, Sisters derive the strength and support needed for active involvement in the pastoral, social, and health care ministries to the poor and needy; in education on all levels in the broadest sense including the promotion of liturgical and cultural arts.
Sisters utilize all available means of communication and media in spreading the Word of God (Evangelization) with special focus on the human dignity of each person through:
- advocacy and empowerment of those who are spiritually and materially poor;
- concern for women and children;
- collaboration with the laity in ministry
Sisters risk all for the Kingdom of God.
