A person’s vocation is a deep call from God that each of us carries in our hearts. God created us with a special purpose – to lead us on the path to salvation, love and service to others. Each person has a unique vocation that God has determined for them from birth. This vocation can take many forms: priesthood, monastic life, marriage, or single life in the world. However, the main goal is the same: to live in truth, love, and faith, serving God and our neighbors in everyday life.
One of the vocations is the path to monastic life, which is a gift from God. Those who answer this call dedicate their lives entirely to God through vows of obedience, poverty, and purity. The monastic life carries a deep desire to become the “bride of Christ,” to live in special closeness to God and to be His faithful servant. The nun realizes her vocation through spiritual motherhood – caring for the souls of people, helping them grow in faith and draw closer to God. Her love and prayer become a spiritual refuge for those seeking support and advice.
Our founder, St. Basil the Great, said that “The life of every Christian is to imitate Christ in serving his neighbor.” This is a clear reminder that our vocation is not only prayer, but also active work for the good of others.
As Basilian Sisters, we have a special mission to combine prayer with active service to the world. Following the example of St. Basil the Great, we are engaged in spiritual education, catechize children and adults, conduct educational activities in various educational institutions, and help those in need. Each of us strives to become a living witness of God’s love, bringing peace and hope through our ministry, raising spiritual children and helping them grow in faith.
