Camp for Youth at the Monastery “Holy Trinity” – Pârâul Rece, Brașov county
Continuing the tradition of summer camps in Lugoj, Sr. Valentina Hădărău, of the Order of Saint Basil the Great, organized a camp this summer.
A group of youth from Lugoj, accompanied by parents, priests, sisters and volunteers spent seven days at “Holy Trinity” Franciscan Monastery in Pârâul Rece, Brașov county. The camp was held from July 30 to August 6, 2024. The camp had a spiritual, educational and recreational character.
During the week, the participants visited several tourist attractions and cities: the Museum of Traditional Popular Civilization “ASTRA” and the Zoo in Sibiu, the city of Brasov and the belvedere platform on Tâmpa, the city of Râșnov, Dino Park and Predeal. There was no shortage of hikes to the Seven Stairs canyon, to the “Trei Brazi” cabin and to “Poiana Secuilor”.
The program started every morning with the Divine Liturgy celebrated in the monastery Church by the priests who accompanied the group.
His Eminence Ioan Bot, Bishop of Lugoj, also participated in the camp this year for two days. The greatest joy were the liturgical celebrations, the dialogues with the youth as well as some fun games. There was the “traditional” campfire, creative workshops, coordinated by teachers Alina and Bianca, various group games and many moments of recreation.
The camp at Pârâul Rece was a beautiful and memorable experience. Each young person had the opportunity to express, through a drawing and words, what they liked most at the camp and what could be improved in the future.
We thank all our benefactors, as well as those who were involved in organizing and coordinating the activities for making this camp a wonderful experience for everyone.
